FAQs

Do I need a haul‑out?

Haul‑outs are strongly recommended for pre‑purchase. They allow proper inspection of hull, running gear, and through‑hulls. Yard fees are billed directly to the yard.

Will my insurer accept the report?

Yes—reports align with ABYC/NFPA guidance and are commonly accepted by major carriers. We are AMS (SAMS) and NAMS‑CMS credentialed; most brokers and insurers are familiar with our format.

How fast is the report?

48‑hour PDF delivery from the onsite date is standard. You also receive a same‑day red‑flag memo so you can make timely decisions.

Payment & scheduling

A deposit secures your date; balance due upon report delivery. We accept major cards and ACH. You can request dates in the form below.

What is “non‑destructive testing”?

We use observation, tapping, moisture readings, basic electrical checks, and thermal cues without drilling or altering the vessel. If intrusive testing is needed, we’ll note it.

Do you travel outside the Upper Keys?

Yes, by arrangement. Additional travel time applies beyond Marathon and Ocean Reef. Include the location in your request for an estimate.

Can you attend a sea trial?

Yes. Sea trials are optional and billed hourly with a two‑hour minimum. Owner/operator must be present.

What access is required?

Keys aboard, shore power available, and safe access to compartments. Please remove personal items that block critical areas.
